Amy Johnson was easily the most famous of the British women pilots of the 1930s. Her early long-distance flights, particularly to Australia, captured the hearts of her countrymen. She was married to another extraordinary pilot - James Mollison. The Mollisons made a number of great flights together and did much to popularize aviation in Great Britain. Together they flew one of the DH88 Comet racers in the 1934 MacRobertson Air Race from England to Australia.  Amy died in a mysterious accident while serving in the Air Ferry Command during  WW II. Several photos of the Mollisons and their aircraft are framed with the signatures of Amy Johnson and James Mollison.
